What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser Hair Removal is a safe, painless and effective method to remove unwanted hair.
How it works
A focused laser beam is emitted from the head of the equipment and enters the skin, it is directed at the hair follicle and individually destroys each follicle, after successful treatment the follicles can no longer produce hair.
The technology that we use at Roots is the latest in laser hair removal technology with in built sapphire cooling to minimize pain or discomfort and has been shown to be very effective in preventing regrowth of hair and proven to be suitable for all skin types and skin tones ranging from I to VI which means it can cover lighter and darker skin tones effectively.
At Roots we carry out a strict and rigorous pre-treatment consultation and also conduct a patch test before we begin any treatment. This is for the safety of our clients and additionally allows us to cater the treatment to each individual client to ensure that we can provide the best course of treatment.
A free consultation and patch test are carried out to assess each client individually and we will discuss the expectations of the client and explain the process and course of treatment. Following the patch test and consultation we allow 48 hours to assess the clients skin and then the first session is carried out. The client and laser technician will wear safety goggles during the treatment process, these are specifically designed for laser use to protect the eyes.
Many clients have worries about the treatment being painful but after the treatment the majority agree that it is not painful, more detail of this can be found in the F.A.Q’s section of the website above. At Roots we have specific measures in place to ensure a pain free treatment for every client.
The treatment itself can take between 15-60 minutes depending on the area being treated, or longer if multiple areas are being treated at once. After the treatment we provide the client with two applications of a gel which will reduce the redness and swelling of the area, which is normal after laser hair removal has been carried out, this redness will only last up to 48 hours and thus the gel we supply will help reduce this.
At this point the treatment is completed and we will discuss any questions with the client. We will then book in the client for the next session depending on how many sessions the client requires or has purchased. The time in between sessions is recommended to be be around 4 weeks. More detail on the recommended number of sessions and time between sessions can be found in the F.A.Q’s section of the website above.
